Comparison between Samsung Continuum I400 and the HTC Desire HD.
Connectivity:
Both phones offer the high quality connectivity features like the other high-end CDMA phones and GSM phones. The Continuum I400 offers 3G network with Rev. A, Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, and microUSB 2.0, while the Desire HD still offers the usual HSDPA and HSUPA, Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, and microUSB 2.0.
Size & Weight:
The Continuum I400 measures 125 x 58 x 12 mm and weighs in at 125 g, while the Desire HD measures 123 x 68 x 11.8 mm and weighs in at 164g.
Camera:
The Desire HD wins the camera specification battle with the 8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus and dual-LED flash, while the Continuum I400 only offers 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus and LED flash. Next, each phone features the same geo-tagging and face detection.

Display:
The Continuum is incredible with the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and 16M colors. Add to that, the display itself measures 3.4 inches with 480 x 800 pixels. The Desire HD only offers the LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 M colors, but the device has a bigger display with 4.3 inches wit the same quality of resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Performance:
With Android Froyo 2.2 inside, HTC Desire HD gives better experience and smoother operations. Samsung Continuum is a new smartphone, but packed with the “old” Android 2.1 (Eclair). Both phones get the incredible processor, as for the Continuum I400 comes with ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and the Desire HD offers Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8255 1 GHz processor. However, the Snapdragon QSD8255 is newer and faster than ARM Cortex, though in real usage, it’s difficult to see the real differences.
Storage:
As for internal storage, we find it the Continuum I400 comes with a greater capacity with its 2GB and 336 MB RAM, and 512 MB ROM, while the Desire HD only offers 1.5 GB and 768 MB RAM. The external memory is shared for each phone comes with 32 GB and 8 GB card included.
Battery life:
The Continuum I400 offers 312 hours of standby time and 7 hours of talk time, while the Desire HD comes with 420 hours of standby time and 5 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.
Verdict:
The Continuum I400 over, the desire HD as the winner for the final result.
